What was covered

Our nation is facing crucial choices about the kind of economy we steward, and an urgent opportunity to create a more inclusive society. As we seek to foster equitable economic progress and participation, we need measures that center equity and wellbeing to shape policies that support the flourishing of individuals, families and our communities.

You are invited to a convening on “Advancing Equity and Wellbeing through Data” on November 30th, an event co-hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, New America, Lumina Foundation, and the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. We will explore this call to reflection and action at New America’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. from 9:00am to 5:00pm ET.

This convening will target “equitable wellbeing” as a goal for policy design and implementation. We will hold a space for a multi-disciplinary inquiry, bridging incredible efforts underway across federal agencies, centers of research, and local communities, to explore the pathway toward a federal framework that supports data and measurement efforts focused on equity and wellbeing.

The agenda includes morning remarks from U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Don Graves, Council of Economic Advisers member Heather Boushey, Counselor to the U.S. Treasury Secretary on Racial Equity Janis Bowdler, and others, followed by an afternoon of interactive sessions to collaboratively explore the challenges to and concrete proposals to advance wellbeing and equity through data and measurement.

We seek to leave this convening with lessons and concrete ideas to support cross-agency efforts to design, build, and implement shared data and measurement efforts that center equity and wellbeing.

Key Topics:

What agile event programs are and why they're essential

Strategies and tools for building agile event marketing

How to scale agile event programs without losing brand integrity or valuable data
